My name is Nicky and I invite you to wander with me to amazing places with great night skies suitable for stargazing. But the human eye is limited, so let’s explore on this website some tools that help us enhance our experience!
Some things about me first.
How I fell in love with Astronomy
I remember myself as a very inquisitive child, who was always curious and became a bookworm as soon as she learned how to read. I had and still have a thirst for exploration and knowledge!
And what’s the final frontier of exploration? No, sky is not the limit, and even the universe itself may be infinite!
During my childhood, I remember a Science teacher inviting us to an Astro-party, where he set up his telescope and pointed it to Saturn and guided each kid to look through the eyepiece and marvel at Saturn’s beautiful rings.
That was it! I was hooked with everything Space-related and from then on, I answered the question “So, what do you want to be when you grow up?” with an enthusiastic “An astronaut!”
My ambitions were somewhat lowered when I was in high school, and I decided to study Physics in a University, majoring in Astronomy. After I obtained my bachelors degree, and having delved deeper into the world of Cosmology, Relativity, Galaxies, Quantum Mechanics, Black Holes, Telescopes and Observational Astronomy, I decided to move to the UK to do a Masters by Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
I greatly enjoyed studying my passion in the Academic environment, but I decided not to pursue an Academic career. Life swept me in another direction, but Astronomy and the Cosmos remain a great passion that I continue to pursue as an Amateur Astronomer.
During all these years, I have been joining Amateur Astronomers’ Clubs in whichever country I happen to live in. Sharing my love about the Universe and my knowledge with other members, organizing stargazing events, advising each other on tips and what tools to buy to fuel our passion even more.

So, the purpose of this website is to finally share this passion with other Astronomy lovers in the online world, or with people that have recently discovered the joy of stargazing and became enthusiastic about Space but don’t know where to begin.
I am here to provide you with reviews of products I use, such as telescopes, solar eclipse glasses, binoculars, astrophotography tools, books etc. And I can also offer you tips about visiting cool places on the Planet with the clearest skies suitable for watching the night sky.
Yes, I travel a lot, hence the “wandering” stargazer 🙂
I have taught Science and Astronomy in International Schools abroad, and I greatly enjoyed teaching these subjects and igniting a spark in young hearts about the mysteries of the Solar system and our Universe. I love helping people and sharing my knowledge, and I will do my best so that you have a great experience navigating this website.
